  • Recruitment Goals Attained – 44 Pledged for Fall 2010 New Member Class!
The fall 2010 pledge class at Mother Mu contains diversity from eight states this year-- Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. The largest contingency comes from Alabama, with 23 pledges. They hail from Alexander City, Birmingham, Jackson, Mobile, Montgomery, Reform, and Tuscaloosa. The seven pledges from Georgia hail from Atlanta, Columbus, Macon and St. Simons. The six pledges from Tennessee hail from Chattanooga, Johnson City, Memphis and Nashville. The two pledges from Louisiana hail from Baton Rouge and Covington. The two pledges from Texas hail from Dallas and Houston. The two pledges from Virginia hail from Manassas and Martinsville. The pledge from Arkansas hails from Little Rock, and the pledge from Florida hails from Pensacola. Another great recruitment year thanks to the officers, members, alumni and friends of Alabama Mu.
  • Recruitment is truly a year round process at Mother Mu. It begins in earnest early in the spring semester during the winter months. It is important that alumni submit Recruitment Recommendations (click here) and that potential new members state their interest early on (click here) so they can get on the rush list and be kept informed of recruitment events throughout the winter, spring and summer months. For more information, click on the Rush menu button above.
  • What a summer for 432 University Boulevard! The lawn is greener than ever, the exterior is illuminated to showcase our proud heritage on campus and Mr. Deas made a special summer project manager comeback. The exterior of the entire house has been inspected, repaired and painted, the interior of the entire first floor (including DeVotie Hall) has been spruced up and painted, the hardwood floors are polished and shining better than ever and the house is ready for the new academic year. Thank you, Mr. Deas, for agreeing to manage the projects over the summer of 2010. We miss you, but appreciate you stepping up once again!
  • Since the Mother Mu: Tradition Founded, Tradition Continued capital campaign began in January 2008, there have been many contacts with our alumni--campaign mailings to our 1,136 brothers, letters to pledge brothers and friends, personal visits, and telephone contacts. Campaign Co-Chairmen, Marbury Rainer '70 & Mike Mouron '72 have worked long and hard, and done a phenominal job! The campaign will soon come to a close...
  • To date, over 330 brothers and friends have pledged or contributed $1,680,758. While we are greatful to these brothers and their generosity is commendable, we are still $300,000 short of our $2 million dollar goal (as of 05/11/2010). Have you stepped up to the plate with your pledge or contribution to support Mother Mu yet?
  • After 12 years of anticipation, dreams and hard work by many alumni, collegiate members, friends and volunteers, the John B. Thompson Alumni Hall become a reality with a special ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony held on September 15, 2007. Alumni Hall was spruced up this summer also. Come on by for a visit and check it out. FA!
