Alabama Iota will be hosting its first annual philanthropy bowling tournament, benefiting
Autism Speaks, a multi-disciplinary autism organization. The bowling tournament is aptly named "Strike-Out Autism".
Strike-Out Autism will take place on
Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at
Brunswick Lanes. Each bowling team that participates will consist of five people. Each team will compete against the other teams, with
prizes going to the top three finishers.

The 2008 Alumni Crawfish Boil will be held on
Saturday, April 5th at the Alabama Iota Chapter at Birmingham-Southern from
11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. We will cook close to 150lbs of crawfish as well as deep-frying a few birds. Parents and alumni are encouraged to
register for the 2008 Alumni Crawfish Boil. Feel free to

Alabama Iota would like to welcome
Dr. Stunda as our new faculty advisor. Dr. Stunda is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Birmingham-Southern.
Also, SAE will hold officer elections for the 2008 school year beginning Tuesday, November 27th.

We would like to thank all of the Alabama Iota alumni and parents that made this year's Crawfish Boil an enjoyable success. Special thanks to Dr. Bray for supplying much of the food for the event! As exams time is getting closer, the spring semester is slowly coming to a close in terms of community service and hosted events.

The spring semester has started off with a busy schedule. After the first week of classes, we have already scheduled three community service projects and considering a few more for later in the semester. We will be hosting our annual Spring Formal on March 2nd in Chattanooga, TN and are currently making preparations for the Alumni Crawfish Boil scheduled for April 21st. Congratulations to the new officers elected for the Spring 2007 term (
Spring 2007 Officers). The newly elected officers will be installed after Christmas break. Also, Alabama Iota proudly welcomes four new members into SAE: Preston Peck, Jesse Shaw, John Shashy and Lee Benton.
